Linda Mar, California – Where the Coast Forgets to Smile
Beyond the hills of San Mateo County lies Linda Mar, a broad, wind-swept bay where heavy northwest swells march in without apology. Thick beach breaks rise and collapse across the sand in relentless procession, offering raw, unforgiving rides to the hardiest souls on towering wooden surf boards. Here the Pacific feels less like California’s promise and more like its warning - cold, restless, and in no mood for company.

FBI Field Report - Final Observation

The storm system has cleared. Surf conditions have normalized. The ocean presently exhibits no visible disturbance and lies flat and reflective.

Dirk Hearst is missing. Last confirmed sighting places him entering the water at first light. One witness reports him speaking with a red-haired woman of striking appearance, long-legged, minimally clothed, moments before paddling out. A second account states he was alone. No surfboard recovered. No vehicle located. No personal effects found ashore.

Family representatives state they are unaware of Hearst’s whereabouts and decline further inquiry. No missing person report has been filed.

Assessment: Subject may have relinquished his life in pursuit of an unknown objective or obligation. No additional evidence presently obtainable.
