Monterey, California – Where the Pacific Shows Its Teeth
Along Monterey’s wind-brushed shore, the sea breaks over reef and rock with thick, powerful waves that rise fast and fall hard. Long-period swells arrive from the northwest, building heavy, driving walls of water that only the most stubborn riders attempt on their immense wooden surf planks. The air runs cold, the water colder still, and the ocean no longer feels like a playground - it feels like a test.

FBI Field Report - Interview Record
Interview with Dr. Lionel Wexford, 61, Psychologist
Dr. Wexford states he evaluated Dirk Hearst (alias “Fiji Tahiti”) in childhood and formally recommended his removal from the family household due to what he described as “chronic miscreant tendencies, obsessive preoccupation with surf riding, and refusal of conventional social development.”
“That boy always attracted the opposite sex,” Wexford stated. “He was a walking biological pheromone - girls, women, dogs, cats, birds. But one must remember every creature possesses multiple needs and unique mating strategies. Some use power, others submission, or rage, or jealousy, or manipulation to complete their mating cycle.”
Dr. Wexford declined further comment and requested the interview be terminated when wave activity intensified offshore.
